HomeenergyThree analyses method for energy manager

In bill analysis method for the energy manager, there are three important analyses we have to know and use for the best result. The three important analyses are benchmarking, load factor analysis, and weather normalization analysis. At first, let’s talk about benchmarking. Benchmarking itself divided into several parts, not only focused in one aspect. Benchmarking divided parts are benchmarking different categories of building, different datasets, and rules of thumb. Benchmarking building in different locations, different benchmarking units, and benchmark summation are also included in benchmarking. The benchmarking different category of building is a benchmarking method to only compare similar facilities. Beside to maximize the result we will have in the end of benchmarking action, benchmarking in compare similar facilities will help us to reduce the some aspects that not really useful. Because of this, it’ll be a good action for us to categorize some of your building into one category at a time. The different datasets action is an action benchmarking your building against similar building in your region. This method will focus your energy management efforts and give you the realistic goals as the result of your benchmarking in the future. The rules of thumb in benchmarking refer to the definition of different types of building have different energy intensities.

Benchmarking building in different locations is very hard to do. It’s because when we benchmark in different location, we will have a different condition. The method of different benchmarking units refers to the idea of cost variation for different utilities do not interfere with the comparison. Benchmarking summation is a method that used by the manager to comparing their building against each other using a relative and relevant comparison.

Load factor analysis is another analysis for the energy manager. The process of load factor analysis is to concentrate your energy management with focusing it toward reducing energy or reducing demand. The load factor analysis refers to the calculation of billing period and the ratio between the average demand and the peak demand. The load factor analysis divided into two main parts, the high load factors and low load factors. In load factor, there are also load factor rules of thumb and load factor summation. Both of them have the same purpose as in benchmarking.

Weather normalization is the other analysis method that allows the manager to determine the best action whether to use the energy in facility. It’s the manager decision to raise the energy usage or to saving the energy.
